Wherefore Are Thee, Diana?
PERSCRIBED SOLO ONE
Character - Diana
The structure of Diana caught my eye because of the Sakspearian aspects, I think it has the potential to be very witty and would be fun to explore the language. I also would like to explore Diana as she seems like a very distinct character that would be easy for me to play, her egotistical nature would also be very fun to play around with. However, there are a few things that put me off this character, I don't mind too much the musical theatre performance style though I don't think it would be something I could excel in as I don't feel passionate about it. I know many passionate musical theatre loves will pcik this structure and excel in it, which is putting me off. Additionally, I'm not a huge fan of the dot points and don't appeal to me as much as the character itself does. I have in the past come across a dot point that requires me to show a variety of different characters such as the second dot point of this structure, and I found it very difficult to do and it wasn't very enjoyable either. Additionally, I think doing a one woman show inside a solo is a little stupid and not something I would enjoy taking apart. Despite all this I will look into the solo and possibly even read the stimulus script 'Wherefore Are Thee?'.
